Materials Needed: All material will be provided.

Class Summary:
Each week we will focus on one topic (e.g., verbs, adjectives, colors, animals, school) and learn related vocabulary. We will use visuals, simple examples, and fun activities and games to help students learn the new vocabulary through repetition and interaction.

No prior knowledge of Japanese is needed!

about the instructor

Ayumi is a native speaker originally from Japan. She served as an officer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force for over 10 years before transitioning into the education field. She received her Japanese language teaching training through Berlitz and has been teaching Japanese as a Second Language for more than eight years through Berlitz, M&K Communication, and independently. she also currently teaches Japanese language and culture to both children and adults at a local Japanese heritage center in the greater Washington D.C. area.

Outside of teaching, Ayumi enjoys practicing yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family and her dog, experiences that often inspire and enrich her lessons.
